We did it! We're finally married!
Yesterday was a very fun filled and eventful day.
The ceremony was much better than I expected ... Not like a typical 'courthouse marriage' at all!
We said our vows and officially 'tied the knot' out in the garden beside the cafeteria. Lot's of photos were taken, and everyone had a great time.
That evening everyone headed on over to the Lark Creek Inn for a wonderful dinner.
Overall, everyone had a splendid time, and Earl and I could not be more happy.
I'll try and post pictures as soon as possible!

Finally Getting Married
So, we've finally set a date!
I called the Marin County Civic Center and made an appointment for a ceremony to be done on August 24th, 2009 at 2:00pm.
The ceremony will only be for immediate family and will be held in the Civic Center garden, adjacent to the cafeteria.
After the ceremony, there will be a dinner held at the Lark Creek Inn (in Larkspur) around 5:30pm (again, only for immediate family).

Almost There!
As of last Tuesday, Earl and I went to the Marin Civic Center, and signed the forms and took the oath and got our marriage liscense!
This is only temporary though, and we don't really consider it "official" yet.
We have 90 days to have a ceremony (if we choose), and to also get the marriage certificate filled out and signed.
We haven't set a date yet for the actual wedding ceremony, but we have decided that it will be small and quick. We will have it at the Marin County Civic center with just immediate family attending (think court house marriage).
So, we're almost there!
Also, there will be an 'After Wedding' party on September 18th, in Bolinas.
More on this will be posted later on.
Thanks again!

Big Changes
Big things are happening this year. This is a year of many changes, many thoughts, many reflections, many everything's ...
What the hell am I babbling about, you ask?
Well ... My boyfriend (Earl), of 4 wonderful, lovely years, has enlisted in the army.
He has enlisted for a total of 5 years (give or take a few months?).
He will be shipping off to basic training in Fort Benning, Georgia on October 6, 2009. He will be gone for about 25 weeks. During that time I won't be able to see him, but I will be sending and receiving letters (and possibly phone calls!) from him.
After those weeks are up there will be a Family Day (for family to go visit him) and Graduation (I'll post more specific info on this when the time comes).
He then gets a week or so off to move and transfer to Fort Bragg, North Carolina, to begin the Special Forces Assessment and Selection course. If he qualifies, he will stay at Fort Bragg and continue his Special Forces Training for another 2 - 3 years (again, more info on this will be posted when the time comes).
If he does not qualify for Special Forces, he will get bumped back down to the Airborne Infantry division (not really sure what happens then).
Of course I will miss him very, very much .. But I will also support him with everything that he will be going through. This is a very big change for the both of us. Never in my life did I see myself going down this path ... But I view this as a great opportunity to see and do things that I never imagined possible.
Due to this situation, and the fact that we've been together for a little more than 4 years, we have decided to get married before he leaves. We are both very happy to go through with this and are looking forward to our future lives together.
I'm writing this so that I can keep everyone up to date on what will be happening within the next year or so. Im also writing this because I would like to know if anyone else out there has gone or is going through the same thing as I am? I really would love to hear peoples thoughts, stories and ideas on this, as I think every opinion leads me closer to better understanding this aspect of life.
If you would like to know more about what Earl will be going through, please feel free to check out some of the links that I have posted on the side.
Thank you to everyone who has read this and thank you to everyone for your love and support!
Please bookmark this blog and continue to check back often!
